When I work a wedding, I often joke with the bride and groom that getting ready for each of them is SOOOO different. The girls take hours to prepare, having carefully selected a hair and make up artist to make them look like their best selves. Then putting on that dress is no easy feat. It takes a team of girls to help lace, zip, and button those dresses! Then they’ll have to help put on the garter, shoes, veil, and jewelry. It literally takes hours.
For the men though, five minutes. Maybe ten. I’ve seen it happen! They can throw on a suit they picked up from the rental shop the day before, lace up their shoes, and run their fingers through their hair and be ready to walk down the aisle. While the girls are spending hours, they spend the rest of the time watch TV, shooting pool, playing cards, or having a beer. Guys have it way easier!
Apparently getting ready for engagement sessions is no different! I had the pleasure of myself shooting out at 48 Fields recently When I met up with Tabitha and Josh for their engagement photos. We got chatting about how their day had been going so far. Tabitha mentioned she had been reminding Josh to keep getting ready, but he knew it was all under control and that he didn’t need more than a few minutes. He knew what he was wear and just need to put it on. Tabitha, on the other hand, had in the process for a couple of hours already.
Regardless of how long it took either of these two, they both were picture-perfect. They were a little unsure of how things would go and were a little nervous to be in front of the camera, but honestly most of my couples start out feeling that way! And like most of them, they also were able to just relax and be themselves, which allowed us to get a collection of great photos from our time together.
So enjoy some highlights from Tabitha and Josh’s engagement portraits at 48 Fields.
