How It All Began
IT ALL STARTED WITH AN EMAIL
I (Macy) am a wedding planner and have been working in Loudoun County for many years. The dream has always been to own a wedding venue one day, far off into the future. Imagine my surprise when, along with everyone else in the networking group, I received an anonymous email stating that a Loudoun County wedding venue was for sale. I immediately turned to Cory and asked if I should respond. Following his response of "why the hell not?", I reached out for more information.
The sale was very tight-lipped. I was told I needed to secure funding to even be allowed to sign the NDA and obtain more information. So while I was figuring out how to buy this venue, I had NO IDEA which one it was.
When we finally signed the NDA and received the sale packet, I was stunned when I saw that it was 48 Fields. The venue where I spent every weekend working for the past four years! I have loved this venue for many years, and I could not let it be snatched up by someone who would change it.
So here we are. Embarking on the biggest adventure of our lives!
Our goal is to preserve the core values and charm that Kelly and Steve, the previous owners, worked so hard to create, while enhancing the experience for all our couples.
NOT YOUR TYPICAL OWNERS
This is our home and family business. We want to keep it intimate and small. We are not just investors looking to make a quick buck.
We love everything about this property, from the magical sunsets to the wildflowers and lightning bugs- we want you to feel that too.
LIMITED NUMBER OF WEDDINGS
We are a busy family, as you can imagine.
Cory works in IT, I also own Schilling Wedding Planning, and we have two little ones.
We carefully manage our wedding and event schedule to ensure that every wedding and event receives the time and attention it deserves.
CREATING A LEGACY
We never want to lose sight of the fact that marriage and family create the cornerstones of our legacy, and we’re so honored to share 48 Fields with others as they begin the journey of starting their own.
How It All Began
The idea of 48 Fields began as a series of late-night stories that typically started close to midnight. Steve would be half asleep, but Kelly was wide awake from having just gotten home from a wedding. There was plenty to say about photographing beautiful brides and heartfelt moments, but conversations always ended up focused on the venue. For years, Steve heard all about the good and the bad of the different venues that Kelly worked with. Until one night in 2013, the story ended with a question.
