Playful Pink Fall Wedding Katherine and Joe

Katherine and Joe’s playful pink fall wedding at 48 Fields was full of fun and love! This sweet couple chose to postpone their original wedding as a result of COVID-19, so we were glad they got to celebrate with a smaller group of family and friends.

A LAST-MINUTE SCRAMBLE

Katherine and Joe’s wedding planning story is one of challenge, resilience, and generosity. While rescheduling a wedding is never easy, these two found themselves in an especially tricky situation. After taking their money, their caterer went out of business without notifying them. They only found out through a friend’s Facebook post the week of their rescheduled wedding! After a last-minute scramble, Smokin’ Willy stepped in and saved the day.

The crisis wasn’t quite over, though, because the original caterer was also planning to provide their cake. As Katherine and Joe frantically searched for a last-minute solution, The Buzz Cafe saw their story and generously offered to donate their wedding cake! Thanks to the kindness of these amazing vendors, Katherine and Joe were able to relax on their wedding day knowing they were in good hands.

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DAY

When the day of their pink fall wedding finally arrived, it was clear it would be a fun day. After a moving first look with his daughter, Katherine’s dad decided to do another – with the groom!

That playful energy continued into the ceremony when their ring bearer drove down the aisle in a tiny car to deliver a very official “ring security” briefcase.

The couple said “I do” outdoors on the ceremony lawn with a backdrop of Virginia’s natural fall foliage. Katherine wore a gorgeous blush dress and sparkly sneakers, her hair in a long, loose braid accentuated by beaded hair jewelry. Joe met her at the altar in a classic, dark suit.

A moon gate from our Something Borrowed collection, decorated in lush florals, served as the altar. And when it was time for the reception, the moon gate moved into the upper level of the dairy barn to frame the couple’s elegant sweetheart table as they danced the night away!

It was such a joy to witness these two special people start their lives together, and we wish them all the happiness in the world!
