Rebecca and Joe celebrated their romantic fall barn wedding at 48 Fields on a beautiful October day, surrounded by the love of family and friends. And so many custom decor pieces to really personalize the look at feel of their celebrations! (Don’t miss their cake display!)
BEFORE THE CEREMONY
The happy couple began their day by getting ready in the farm house. Rebecca dressed in a romantic, long-sleeve wedding dress with botanic-inspired lace and an illusion back. Its full skirt had a dramatic cathedral-length train. She wore her hair in an elegant updo with soft curls framing her face. And fastened to her bouquet, Rebecca carried three small cameos with photos of dearly departed family members.
Meanwhile, downstairs Joe and his groomsmen played cards before dressing in their wedding best. Joe then donned a classic black tuxedo, while his groomsmen wore charcoal suits with maroon ties.
As a wedding gift, Rebecca gave Joe a personalized handkerchief embroidered with their initials and a sweet note. Joe gifted each of his groomsmen a personalized pocketknife with their initials engraved into the blade.
Once they were ready, Rebecca and Joe met for a first look on the lawn in front of the farm house. During this special moment, they read their vows to each other privately. This is a great option for any couple that is not as comfortable sharing in front of an audience, or for those having a more structured ceremony that doesn’t allow for custom vows.
They then took portraits around the property, including some with their adorable dog! She wore a special collar with fabric flowers and pearl beads for the occasion. Next came photos with their wedding party in front of the barn, then on to the ceremony!
FALL WEDDING OUTDOOR CEREMONY
Rebecca and Joe said “I do” on the ceremony patio with a backdrop of fall foliage, as well as a floral ring overflowing with white and blush flowers. As guests arrived, they were offered both hot and cold drinks, as well as tissues for happy tears.
Rather than a traditional ring bearer, Rebecca and Joe opted for a “ring security” team. A mock ring theft as they were walking down the aisle added a moment of levity to this sweet and romantic unplugged ceremony.
Once the knot was tied, it was time to celebrate!
OUTDOOR COCKTAIL HOUR
Just steps away from the ceremony, guests proceeded to an outdoor cocktail hour, where a calligraphy mirror sign welcomed them. Next to the barn, they found a cigar bar and a rustic cart topped with photos in memory of family members. Also on the cart, a guest book with envelopes invited guests to leave private notes to Rebecca and Joe.
Fortunately, the skies stayed clear on this October day so guests could enjoy yard games including giant Jenga, Connect 4, and Yahtzee. At the bar, they served signature cocktails perfect for the season: a Cranberry Moscow Mule for her and Bourbon Apple Cider for him, complete with a cinnamon stick.
BEAUTIFUL BARN RECEPTION
During cocktail hour, Rebecca and Joe got a sneak peek of their reception space, which glowed with warmth from the string lights and chandeliers. Farmhouse tables with dusty rose table runners, lush greenery, and gold candle holders filled the space. They had a white wedding cake decorated with florals and gold leaf, which was accompanied by a custom illustrated sign labeling the flavors.
Rebecca and Joe opted to use both levels of the dairy barn, with dinner and dancing upstairs and a dessert bar, photo booth, and vintage lounge furniture downstairs.
As guests moved into the barn after cocktail hour, a gold mirror seating chart at the entrance directed them to their tables. And when they reached their seat, each guest found a gold charger topped with a custom acrylic place card.
After toasts and dances, the happy couple snuck away to take beautiful sunset portraits in the fields before rejoining their guests to dance the night away!
Possibly our favorite choice Rebecca and Joe made came at the end of the night. As their guests got organized to send them off in style with glow sticks, the couple had one last dance together in the empty barn to soak up the magic of their wedding day.
We thank Rebecca and Joe for choosing 48 Fields to begin their happily ever after. It was our pleasure to host their romantic fall barn wedding and we wish these two a lifetime of happiness together!
