Jenelle and Chris’ 2020 Halloween wedding overflowed with spooky details.
With all the disruptions of COVID, the couple chose to have a small elopement with their nearest and dearest. They got ready in the farm house, then said “Til death do us part” in the lower level of the dairy barn. Afterward, they embraced the crisp fall weather with an outdoor celebration and portraits around the property.
From the very start, their day was filled with boo-tiful details. For example, Jenelle’s shoes, which looked traditional on first glance, featured black bows and tiny skulls. And underneath her modern lace dress, she wore a garter was emblazoned with an orange “boo”. Jenelle’s closest friends joined her to get ready, wearing matching robes with pink floral skulls and the words “A ghoul’s best friend.”
In place of a traditional ring box, the couple used a tiny coffin personalized with their name and wedding date. Chris’ outfit continued the theme, his black suit and shirt paired with a purple vest and dark green tie. And he had a little help with his boutonniere in the form of a tiny skeleton hand that appeared to hold it to his lapel.
A SPOOKY CEREMONY
Jenelle and Chris chose to have their ceremony in the bright lower level of the dairy barn. Jenelle entered with her parents through a black arch resembling a haunted forest and festooned with skeleton parts. And Chris awaited her in front of a floral ring decorated with florals in deep autumnal hues.
Once the couple promised to love each other “Til death do us part,” they and their guests headed outside to celebrate!
A GHOULISH RECEPTION
Whimsically dark details abounded at the couple’s outdoor reception. For example, they had a classic white wedding cake with just one unusual detail: it had a meat cleaver sticking out of it.
To end the day, their guests enjoyed the festivities and yard games while Jenelle and Chris stole away for portraits around the property. Our favorite detail from these photos is their coordinating jeweled skeleton masks!
While we love traditional weddings, it was so fun to host Jenelle and Chris’ very unusual Halloween wedding! They were great to work with, and we wish them lots of love and happiness…until death parts them.
