Angela and Andrew’s dusty blue and burgundy Northern Virginia wedding with dogs will inspire you with fun ways to include your dogs in your wedding!
On their 2019 fall wedding day, Angela and Andrew got ready in our wedding suites in the farm house. These well-appointed spaces make it easy for couples and their wedding parties to get ready on the day of their wedding. The farm house is located just steps from the barn for a quick and easy transition to the ceremony.
Angela had a “first look” with her dad, a moment for him to see her in her dress before the ceremony, then met Andrew for a first look of their own. Angela looked beautiful in a flowing organza wedding dress with lace appliqué, with her hair in a low, loose updo. And Andrew was her perfect match in a classic black tux. The couple explored the fields for their portraits, making use of our 48 acres of Virginia countryside.
The couple then rejoined their wedding party, whose attire brought their dusty blue and burgundy color scheme to life. Angela’s attendants wore floor-length, dusty blue dresses, and Andrew’s wore dark gray tuxedos with lapels trimmed in black, and burgundy bow ties. The wedding party’s bouquets and boutonnieres brought a pop of color through burgundy and blush florals. A long, burgundy ribbon added a touch of modern romance to Angela’s bouquet.
And of course, these dog-lovers’ portraits wouldn’t be complete without their pups! Angela and Andrew’s dogs Finch and Harper dressed to impress in a doggie bow tie and a flower collar.
AN INDOOR CEREMONY WITH DOGS
Next came their ceremony in the lower level of the dairy barn. Some couples worry that doing a first look will take away from the emotion of walking down the aisle. However, Andrew’s reaction to seeing Angela at the ceremony is a testament that nothing can diminish that special moment. Their dogs walked down the aisle too, escorted by junior members of the wedding party.
As their ceremony backdrop, Angela and Andrew chose the wood arbor from our Something Borrowed collection, decorated with white fabric and a beautiful floral arrangement to match the bouquets.
A COZY BARN RECEPTION
Once happily married, the couple joined their guests at a reception in the upper level of the dairy barn. The vaulted ceilings and sparkling string lights set a warm and cozy mood. And though the couple’s dogs couldn’t join the party, they did make an appearance in another way. Angela and Andrew named their signature cocktails after Finch and Harper, and displayed a sign featuring adorable portraits of their furry friends!
The evening passed joyfully, full of dancing and toasts, cake cutting and laughter. We’re so glad to have hosted Angela and Andrew’s dusty blue and burgundy wedding with dogs. We are a dog-friendly Northern Virginia wedding venue, and we hope to see you and your furry friends here soon!
