Outdoor Spring Wedding with Blue Hydrangeas Katy and Erik

No two weddings at 48 Fields are exactly alike, and Katy and Erik’s outdoor spring wedding is a perfect example! In fact, this joyful couple chose a unique location for both their ceremony and reception.

After getting ready in the wedding suites in the farm house, Katy received rave reviews in a first look with her bridesmaids!

This was followed by a romantic first look with Erik, where the couple exchanged letters and spent a private moment together before the ceremony. Katy wore a modern, a-line dress and sparkly white sneakers perfect for dancing. And Erik looked handsome in a classic black suit.

AN OUTDOOR CEREMONY IN FRONT OF THE BARN

Then, Katy and Erik tied the knot at a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The wood doors of the dairy barn served as the backdrop for their emotional ceremony, along with our wood arbor decorated with flowing fabric and florals.

Attendants in light blue and grey flanked the happy couple as they said “I do.” In keeping with the light blue theme, blue and white hydrangeas and white roses brought the whole day together, from Katy’s bouquet to the ceremony decor to the flowers on the sweetheart table at their reception.

AN AL FRESCO RECEPTION

Following the ceremony, Katy and Erik joined their guests for an outdoor cocktail hour in front of the cocktail barn with our umbrella barrel tables. They then headed to an al fresco dinner under the beautiful April sky.

Along with the typical toasts and cake cutting, Katy and Erik’s outdoor reception included a rousing round of the Shoe Game. In case you haven’t seen it played, each marrier holds one of their shoes and one of their partner’s. They then have to answer questions like “Which one of you is messier?” by holding up the appropriate shoe. As you can tell from the reaction shots below, hilarity ensues!

While their guests enjoyed the mild spring weather, Katy and Erik took to the fields for stunning golden hour portraits. The April light was just right for a sunset photo session surrounded by natural beauty!

DANCING IN THE BARN

To end the night, Katy and Erik rejoined their guests in the dairy barn for dancing, followed by a whimsical sendoff with glow sticks!
