“Did you say…dinosaurs?” Yes, we did! Kayla and Kevin’s pink fall micro wedding shows that no matter your interests, you can incorporate them into your wedding day. Kevin gave a subtle nod to his love for dinosaurs through his dino socks and cufflinks. And keep scrolling to see the starring role a certain dinosaur played at their cocktail hour!
Early in the pandemic, Kayla and Kevin decided they would keep their wedding date no matter what. They chose to scale down their big day and incorporate safety measures such as masks and hand sanitizer to keep their guests safe. Even with a smaller guest count, they took full advantage of the sprawling 48 Fields property, moving the party throughout the day to utilize several of our spaces.
Kayla wore a gorgeous a-line dress with a plunging neckline and blush undertones. She and Kevin both got dressed in the getting ready suites at the farm house, but we love that their photographer chose to photograph her dress in the barn to get the perfect shot! For portraits and the ceremony, Kayla wore a cathedral-length veil with stunning appliqué.
FIRST LOOK
The couple chose to have a first look, giving them a private moment in their finery before the hustle and bustle of the day began. It also gave them an opportunity to take more photos together, including some in our fields, which was very important to them. Kayla carried a loose, full bouquet of pink, white, and eucalyptus. It perfectly complemented her attendants’ light pink dresses and the pink ties worn by Kevin and his attendants.
MICRO WEDDING OUTDOOR CEREMONY
Next, they said their vows in a simple outdoor ceremony on our ceremony lawn among close family and friends. They used the moon gate from our Something Borrowed collection as their ceremony backdrop. The couple chose to decorate the floral ring with pink and white florals and greenery paired with flowing white fabric.
COCKTAIL HOUR
Kayla and Kevin gave their guests a chance to get to know them better through subtle details that personalized their day. Nowhere was this more clear than at their cocktail hour. They displayed photos, shared the dates they got together and got engaged, and had custom napkins with fun facts about them as a couple!
The indoor-outdoor cocktail featured signature drinks at the bar, comfortable lounge seating, and yard games. Guests played cornhole, giant jenga, and giant yahtzee, all from our Something Borrowed collection!
DOUBLE RECEPTION
After the cocktail hour, they gathered in the upper level of the dairy barn for a barbecue dinner, toasts, and cake. Then the party moved downstairs for dancing in the lower level!
This magical pink fall micro wedding ended with a sparkler exit outside the barn!
Even if not everyone could be in attendance, we’re so glad this couple got to have their big day!
