Alternatively, you could get married later in the season for less competition, or consider a Friday or Sunday wedding.

Temperatures in October can be 40°, 80°, or anywhere in between. If you’re planning a fall wedding, keep an eye on the forecast. You may want to provide fans for hot weather or hand warmers if things get chilly. Especially once the sun goes down. An evening wedding may be a great idea in early September, but it may be dark and chilly at that same time in November! Peak fall foliage timing in Northern Virginia varies from year to year based on weather, but is typically in mid to late October. Even early November is generally still colorful.
