Jen and Jon’s stylish red, black, and white wedding in Northern Virginia put a modern twist on this classic color palette. And the dance moves were unparalleled!
GETTING READY
The day’s cohesive color palette emerged even in the getting ready suites in the farm house, where Jen’s bridesmaids wore silky red pajamas and white robes to match Jen’s.
Jen then dressed in an absolutely stunning off-the-shoulder gown, with a lace illusion bodice and full tulle skirt. Her long curls cascaded down her back, held by a beaded hair piece. Jen’s bridesmaids wore rich red, floor-length dresses in the same fabric but different styles.
Meanwhile, Jon and his groomsmen dressed in sleek, all-black suits, with no boutonnieres. Jon set himself apart from his attendants by wearing a white pocket square rather than black, as well as personalized gold initial cufflinks.
In contrast to their all-black outfits, Jen carried an all-white bouquet with her white dress, while her bridesmaids carried bouquets of red and white.
Once dressed, Jen and Jon met for a first look in front of the dairy barn. We just love Jon’s stunned expression upon seeing his beautiful partner!
A RED, BLACK & WHITE WEDDING CEREMONY
Jen and Jon said “I do” on our ceremony patio. They kept the decor simple, with red and white fabric draped over our wood ceremony arbor and two red and white floral arrangements adorning the sides.
Following a joyful ceremony, they celebrated with a reception in the upper level of the dairy barn.
A STYLISH RED, BLACK AND WHITE WEDDING RECEPTION
For their reception, Jen and Jon chose to arrange their tables into four long banquet-style tables. This gave the evening a festive, communal feel. Deep red tablecloths perfectly complemented the rich wood of the barn, set off by white napkins and black and white chairs. Greenery, warm candlelight, and gold accents added the finishing touches.
They also had a dessert table, including a three-tiered cake decorated with magnolia flowers and a playfully cheeky cake topper (pun intended).
At this point in the evening, Jen and Jon began to reveal their dancing skills! Following a fabulous first dance, they had their father daughter and mother son dances. Jen’s dad looked dapper in a white suit with black shirt, and Jon’s mom was the picture of elegance in a red dress.
Jen and Jon then stepped out to catch the sunset. Their golden hour portraits are some of our favorites, since they show a couple so clearly in love!
When they returned, it was time for toasts, cake cutting, and tearing up the dance floor! Jen and Jon both showed off some sweet moves. And don’t miss the photo of one of their guests appearing to levitate off the floor! It was a fun way to end a wonderful day.
It was our pleasure to host this modern take on the classic red, black, and white wedding. We wish Jen and Jon so much happiness together!
